Joyce "Joy" Patricia Houghton, age 81, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Houghton was preceded in death by her husband, John Houghton, Sr.; a son, Mark Houghton; her parents, Jefferson and Elma Pierce; and a brother, James D. Pierce.

She is survived by her children, Shaaron Smith (Al), Leland Smith (Becky), Renee Franklin (Norman), Edward Arno, Jr., Tara Felts, Alicia Houghton, Kim Laymance (Randy), Judy Houghton, Jeff Houghton, and John Houghton, Jr.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and very close friends, Norma Blankenship, Alice Smith, Richard Wahl and Richard Green.

The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Tuesday and 11am-12pm Wednesday at the Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rick Simms officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
